Buddy Holly Nerd Glasses

Nerd Glasses have been in style for awhile now and the other day I went to Blue7 and bought me a pair of Nerd Glasses. Later that day I met up with my friend Kelly and she loved my pair of nerd glasses. People at the Red Rooster were telling me how great nerd glasses are and I simply adore these pair of glasses! Nerd glasses are in and you must go out and get yourself a pair!

Indian food.

So I went to the store to buy ingredients for Shrimp Scampi and when I got home I was tired so my mother decided to make Shrimp-stir fry with rice.

This is how she created this yummy meal.
1. My mom warmed up the canola oil in a skillet.
2. Then she added mustard seed then waited till it popped.
3. After it popped she added sliced onions then started sauteing them
4. In the middle of sauteing them she added turmeric powder and salt.
5. Then she added in sliced potatoes and summer squash with a dash of black pepper.
6. At last she added the cooked shrimp and mixed it all up. In the end it was beautiful!

It took her under 30 minutes to cook this deliciously meal and it was Yummo! I love my mother's cooking, yes my mom can out cook your mother.

Pink Headbands.

Pink, Pink and pink the color I adore. Since, I was a little girl I loved pink and my love for pink has never stopped. My bathroom in India is pink and my love for pink has grown over the years. I figure, once I'm over 30 I'm going to tone down the color pink and exchange it for something new. Till then, I'm going to enjoy this beautiful color.

I was at Target today and came across this beautiful head-band. It reminded me the days of being a little girl and wearing bows that my mother bought. My mom had great style back in the day, she knew how to dress me and even now she knows what to get me. Now back to the story. While at Target, the pink head-band just caught my eye so then I tried it on(yes, I tried it on at the store...GASP!) then I decided this head-band is a must have but there was one problem. The head-band didn't have a tag on it! I immediately went to the customer service desk and told them that I loved this head-band and it had no tag :( The girl working behind the desk told me it's on clearance for $1.99 and I just had the biggest smile. I knew what the fat kid at the Cup-cake store really felt when his/her mommy said "its okay hunny, choose whatever you want." I mean...it made me really happy.

I decided to include a couple of pink items I have, this is not all of it but this is just 5% of the pink I currently have. :)

Barbie Cupcake!

My friend Kelly went to the Barbie convention last week and when she arrived there they gave everyone The "Barbie Cupcake." She immediately posted it on her twitter to show me(I vicariously lived through her that week because I love Barbie) and I just fell in love.

Kells told me the cupcake was splendid and she loved every minute of the Barbie Convention. She even saw Barbie Louboutins...which I must admit, I adore. :)

Yorkshire Terrorist

Look, I love my Louis because he is funny, smart and just over-all hilarious. When he is bored he will come and attack you. I forgot to put toys out before I went to run some errands for a day and he chewed up my favorite shoes. After sobbing like a fat kid in an empty cup-cake store I went online and tried to see if the store I bought the shoes at still had them up. I wasn't quite sure because I bought these shoes last year and when the season ends they chunk them out or hand them over to the outlet stores. Well, as I was browsing frantically I found my pair of shoes at the stores website! It was on clearance and only had 2 sizes left which was a size 7 and a size 8.5. I usually wear a size 6.5 but decided the 7s would work.

The shoes came to my house earlier this week but I haven't had time to open the box but today before I left my house I decided to open the shoes and see if they fit or if I needed to cut my losses and return my shoes. Well, guess what? They fit! They're a little loose but that's okay, I like my feet to breath when I'm out enjoying the night.

Over-all Louis had a great time chewing my shoes and in the end I'm glad he did that because my shoes were getting worn out and what straight girl doesn't love a new pair of shoes?

Green Goodies Cupcakes!!

About a week ago I was reading the OKC Gazette on up and coming events, well in the gazette they talked about a cupcake bakery that was going to open and that they would specialize in Vegan and Organic cupcakes. I loved the idea but since it didn't open yet I didn't bother to mark it on my calendar.

Yesterday, I went to Blue7 to buy some items and they had a batch of cupcakes there, while looking through the cupcakes the young man told me about Green Goodies cupcakes. I immediately knew what he was talking about and was surprised because HOW COULD I FORGET?! I LOVE CUPCAKES!!!!!!!

Anyhow, after leaving Blue7 I immediately went to Green Goodies By Tiffany and yes, I fell in love. The pastry is the best pastry I have ever tasted and it was wonderful. I now know how my Yorkies feel like when they get a treat. You just want MORE AND MORE.

I ordered a Hostess cupcake and it was so yummy I felt like a Fat Kid in a Cupcake Store. I also got a strawberry cupcake and I hate strawberry's. Okay no I lied. I only like strawberry martinis and strawberry the fruit, anything else strawberry I hate(milkshakes,ice cream, strawberry milk, etc.) This strawberry cupcake is amazing, I simply couldn't get enough of it. While I was eating the cupcake the Michael Jackson song was singing in the background in my mind "can't stop till you get enough, can't stop till you get enough" and I was just simply in...Heaven.

Now, I don't know who Tiffany is but whoever she is I'm glad she decided to open this Cupcake Shop because people like me are very loyal to those who know how to bake Pastrys.

Peppers!

Yesterday, my mother went out into her garden and started plucking out the peppers she planted and so far the garden is doing great! The peppers have bloomed and they look hot and spicy. I touched a little bit of it and it made my hand burn :(

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the peppers because I know once they are used in my meal I will enjoy them too...till I bite one and then have to start chugging cold water then I will wish they were not in my meal.

Sushi in Dallas!

Look, I love Dallas. Why? Because they have everything there and I simply can't get over their techno radio station. I love techno dance music and my friends make fun of me all the time because they hate it but here I go dance, dance the night away.Sometimes I dance by myself with my dogs and we just have a blast. Okay, back to the blog. While, I was in Dallas(restaurant is in Plano but anyhow) my cousin took me to a mom and pop sushi restaurant called Sushi Sakana which was simply amazing!

One thing I loved was their ginger salad dressing and the reason why I adored it is because of the color. It was a deep maroon color instead of the typical orange and it tasted so GREAT! I simply loved it!! On top of that the house salad I ordered 2 rolls and it was amazing. Yes, I forgot the names of the rolls that I ordered but either way it was yummy! If you are ever in the Dallas-Plano area you need to visit Sushi Sakana because that place is spectacular!

I also loved the way they designed the orange when they gave it to us right before we had our desert. Oh how I love to clean my palate right before desert!



For desert they had fried batter which covered vanilla ice cream and it was cut in pieces just like a sushi roll. Yummo!!

New Favorite Item: Wrigley's Extra

I have another confession to make to everyone. I'm an addict. I love gum. I'm all about chewing gum but one thing I hate is that the flavor never lasts longer than an hour. So the other day I see this pack of gum laying around and I decide to try it out. My brother also tried it out(he bought it) and he said he was in class for 3 hours and the gums taste didn't even wear off. Now this is my kind of chewing gum!


I tried this gum and sure enough my brother was right, even after 3 hours the flavor of the gum didn't wear out and to make it better the gum comes in the long silver wrappers like they use to back in the 90s. Ahhh the silver wrapper brings back many memories of being a child. Oh my, how I long for my Childhood.

Tomatoes!

Yesterday, when I was taking the Yorkies out to use the restroom I noticed my mothers garden was blooming. The tomatoes came out and I was jumping for joy. I ran inside and told my mother that the tomatoes came out and she has to come out to see it for herself . I immediately then grabbed a knife and went outside then stated grabbing the tomatoes. I even noticed that my mother planted a baby tomatoe plant and one baby tomatoe came out alive! After grabbing the tomatoes and washing them my mother then ate them and told me they taste so much better than the tomatoes out in the store. I wouldnt know because I don't like tomatoes.

All I know is that the Aztecs(who used tomatoes in their cooking and even believed that the seeds in the tomato would grant them god-like powers) would be proud of my mother for planting beautiful tomatoes!

Bday Dinner

Last week we went to celebrate my friend Kathy's birthday and we went to a restaurant called Rococos. I have a confession to make. My all time favorite food are hamburgers and french fries. If I'm craving one and if I'm at a all - star restaurant it doesn't matter to me what they have, if they have a burger I'll take it and chow it down like a Yorkie on its chew-stick. I simply loved this burger, sure it's not the best burger I ever had but it's pretty much up there. Of course I didn't add the tomatoes, if there is one thing I don't like in my burger it's tomatoes.

Mi Madre's Garden

When summer started my mother decided to create a garden. I had no idea what she planted till I went out to the garden yesterday to grab the veggies(Louis came along with me and it was fun playing "Wheres Louis" because I had no idea where he was when he stuck himself in the garden) and I had a blast.

I found out my mother planted Squash, Cucumber, Tomatoes(which were not ready to be plucked), Peppers, Okras, and some other green veggies which I don't know the name of but it looked pretty normal to cook and eat. I had fun picking the veggies out and being on the look out for garden snakes. I then realized garden snakes are not as bad as cobras so therefore I shouldn't be on the look out but I was paranoid because Louis was next to me and we all know how that yorkie is curious about everything and isn't scared of anything. Either way it was a blast and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

My Converse Shoes

Earlier this year I was watching Grindhouse DEATH PROOF by Quentin Tarantino and in the scene where Vanessa Ferlito is dancing you will see two girls in the background wearing Converse High-Top shoes. I immediately decided I need to have a pair because I barely see them around anymore! So then about a month ago, I custom made my shoes at Converse.com and I can say that I absolutely love these shoes!

As you all know I love pink(always have and always will) and I figured black would be the best color because it goes with any color out there and I could always wear it with anything.

As a kid growing up my mother use to call me Vavaa(Va- Vaa) and its a name she still calls me till this day. Sometimes she will tell my buddies to call me that but I get a little annoyed by it. Oh well, at the end of the day its my nick name and I'm OK with that!

When I was custom making my shoes, I saw that converse has a section where you can also include a custom ID and I choose Vavaa. The name that my mother uses for me as a nickname...which I adore.

I believe everyone should have a pair of shoes they custom made because at the end of the day it's definitely yours.
